Suspended sentence for Sarkozy ‘grabber’

A man who grabbed President Nicolas Sarkozy by the lapel during a walkabout in south-western France on Thursday has been given a six-month suspended prison sentence after being convicted of “violence against a person holding public authority”.

Caretaker Herman Fuster, 43, has been ordered to have hospital treatment and do two days community service.

The motive for his action has not been disclosed.
