A Russian passenger jet with 52 people on board has crashed in heavy fog.
At least 44 people were killed, eight others were injured. A 10-year-old boy is among the survivors.
The plane, a Tupolev 134, had taken off from Moscow and came down outside the northern city of Petrozavodsk.
A video made by a witness on her mobile phone showed the fire which followed the plane’s break up on coming into land.
Dozens of emergency workers and firemen rushed to the scene.
Most of the passengers were Russian but a Swedish national was also on board.
The Tupolev is has been involved in several crashes including the high profile 2010 disaster which killed Poland’s president and 96 others.
