Several people have been killed following a suspected suicide bomb attack on the Nigerian
police headquarters in the capital Abuja.
Officials say the explosion left dead bodies scattered in the station car park.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
But the radical Islamist Boko Haram sect is thought to be behind a series of bombings across the north of the country in recent months.
The group has warned it will carry out further attacks if its demands for sharia (or Islamic) law to be applied more widely in Nigeria are not met.
Officials fear they have struck again and this time in the capital city of Africa’s most populous nation.
