One of the world’s smallest butterflies, the Sinai Baton Blue, is threatened with extinction according to scientists.

It feeds on a specific kind of wild thyme that can only be found in a small corner of the Sinai Desert.

But overgrazing by Bedouin herds, over-collection of the plant for medicinal purposes and global warming could spell the end of this unique species.
