Barcelona hails Champions League win

The streets of Barcelona were painted claret and blue after the city’s title-winning football team beat Manchester United 3-1 in the Champions League final on Saturday.

An estimated 35,000 supporters of the Catalan giants partied well into the small hours of Sunday morning after the team lifted the trophy for the fourth time in its history.

Crowds had gathered at the city’s Arc de Triomf to watch the match on big screens. But the celebrations did not stop there.

Barca defender Gerald Pique revealed on his Twitter account how the players will spend Sunday evening.

He wrote that the team will attend a Shakira concert at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium. The 24-year-old is currently dating the Columbian pop star.
