Pakistan hit by fatal bomb blast

A bomb blast has killed as many as eight people in the Bajaur region of Pakistan close to the country’s border with Afghanistan.

Reports suggest the bomb was planted in a restaurant up to ten were hurt in the explosion.

Residents in the area have formed a tribal force to fight Taliban militants in the region.

Pakistan has seen a surge in militant activity since a US operation led to the killing of al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden on May 2.
