The former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn has been moved to a more luxurious residence in New York.

The lawyers of the man accused of attempted rape argued that his new location would be more suitable and secure and the judge agreed.

Although supposed to be top secret, his new home while he awaits trial is known to be a $50,000-a-month town house complete with gym, spa and home theatre.

Despite all the extras, Strauss-Kahn will continue to be under 24-hour house arrest.

The 62-year-old who has already spent four nights in jail, denies all charges connected to an alleged assault on a hotel chambermaid. His next appearance in court in on June 6.
