Contradictory reports have emerged over the whereabouts of the Libyan leader’s wife and daughter.

Tunisian security sources have claimed that Safia Gaddafi and her daughter Aisha entered Tunisia four days ago.

This was later denied by the Tunisian Interior Ministry claiming if they had they would have been arrested as they are UN-imposed travel ban.

However a Libyan opposition source says they are in Djerba to get treatment for Aisha’s injured husband.

Earlier Libya freed four foreign journalists who had been charged with entering the country illegally.

US reporters Clare Gillis and James Foley, along with Spanish photographer Manu Brabo and Britain’s Nigel Chandler were given a one-year suspended sentence but told they could leave.
