A tiny microchip is the missing link for scientists building a bionic vision system. Perfecting the whole contraption has taken ten years. But the chip which is five square millimetres has been completed in just a year. It’s the brainchild of Associate Professor Gregg Suaning and his team at New South Wales University and it will power the bionic eye system.
