At the Thai Elephant Conservation Centre near the historic city of Chiang Mai, elephants are being used in animal therapy with autistic children.

Project leaders say it is a way of recycling elephants who have lost their traditional role as working beasts in Thailand, and are hoping to prove the efficienty of the treatment.
