Lukashenko rival jailed for 5 years in Belarus

Andrei Sannikov, one of the main political rivals of Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko, has been jailed for five years after being found guilty of “organising mass disturbances.”

Sannikov was arrested in December after protesting against Lukashenko on the day of his re-election.
