Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has fired three key Cabinet ministers.

State media reported that Oil Minister Masoud Mirkazemi, Welfare and Social Security Minister Sadeq Mahsouli, and Industry Minister Ali Akbar Mehrabian have all lost their jobs.

It is not clear whether they will be replaced.

Parliament recently passed a law requiring that the number of ministries be reduced from 21 to 17.
