Around 100 people evacuated from their village near the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan have been allowed back to visit their homes.

Officials showed them how to put on protective suits for the two-hour visit to Kawauchi. They were also given radiation monitors and walkie-talkies to carry.

This is the first official trip since the government set up a 20-kilometre exclusion zone around the plant after the massive earthquake and tsunami on March 11.
