Seven people have been arrested in France following an investigation into terror networks in Pakistan. The suspected Islamic militants are believed to be linked to jihadist operations in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
One of the men was apprehended as his flight from Algeria landed in Paris. The others were taken after police conducted a series of raids in central Paris and some of the capital’s northern suburbs including Garges-lès-Gonesse.
There are reports the suspects could have ties to two French nationals arrested in Abbottabad earlier this year. The Pakistani city was the location of Osama Bin Laden’s hideout and death.
