Pakistani Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani is to address parliament on the US special forces mission that led to the death of Osama bin Laden.

The briefing comes as questions are being asked as to how the most wanted man in the world managed to live undetected right under the noses of the country’s military.

Pakistanis are also furious at the apparent impunity with which the US violated Pakistani airspace.

The fact that bin Laden lived two kilometres from the country’s top military academy and just a two hour drive from the capital Islamabad, has hurt bilateral relations.

The killing of the al Qaeda leader is a major embarrassment for Pakistan’s powerful military and has left the civilian government of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Gilani with awkward questions to answer.
