The legendary German playboy and former husband of French actress Brigitte Bardot, has killed himself.

78 year-old Gunter Sachs is reported to have shot himself at his Swiss chalet.

Sachs, grandson of the founder of the car giant, Opel, helped to make the French Riviera resort of St Tropez so fashionable in the 60’s.
