Sony offers safeguard to theft victims

Electronics giant Sony is to offer its customers in the US up to one million dollars of insurance cover in the event of identity theft.

The move follows hacking attacks involving the possible leak of personal data of up to 77 million Playstation Network subscribers.

The firm says it’s planning to extend the coverage to other countries.
