Obama refuses to release bin Laden photos


President Barack Obama has ruled out releasing photographs of the body of Osama bin Laden but his reasons have not satisfied some sceptics.

Although he has repeated there is plenty of proof the al Qaeda leader is dead, others remain unconvinced.

Bin Laden’s daughter claiming her father was captured first then killed has also muddied the water.

“There is no doubt that we killed Osama bin Laden,” said the president. “It is important for us to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence. As propaganda too.”

But photos taken by a Pakistani security official who entered bin Laden’s compound after the early morning raid have emerged which show the bloody corpses of two other victims.

Some members of bin Laden’s family survived the raid. His wife, who was not used by her husband as a human shield as first reported but was shot in the leg, along with his daughter are now in secret locations within Pakistan.
