A suicide car bomb has killed at least 16 people and wounded more than 40 – mostly police officers – in the Iraqi city of Hilla, south of Baghdad, authorities say.

The Hilla bomber rammed his car into the entrance of a police headquarters in the centre of the mainly Shi’ite city.
