Officials find second black box from Air France crash

French investigators said on Tuesday that have found the second flight recorder of the Air France plane that crashed into the Atlantic almost two years ago.

Flight 447 from Rio to Paris plunged into the sea off the Brazilian coast in June two thousand and nine, killing all 228 people onboard.

The latest discovery comes two days after the first flight data recorder was recovered.

They should hold cockpit conversations during the flight’s final moments, which will bring officials and victims’ relatives closer to understanding what happened.

Speculation about what caused the accident has focused on the possible icing up of the aircraft’s speed sensors.

They appeared to give inconsistent readings before communication was lost.

However, investigators have said it is unlikely the crash was caused just by sensor error.
