Anti-government protests have erupted again on the streets of Sanaa in Yemen as the political manoeuvres to create stability continue.
A protester was killed in Taiz south of the capital by snipers firing from the roof tops, reported a leader of the protest movement. According to residents in the Red Sea district of Hudaida, riot police opened fire wounding eight people.
A deal for President Ali Abdullah Saleh to cede power could be finalised at a meeting in Riyadh next week, according to a Gulf official. Though with a note of caution, he added that it may be a forum to haggle out the final terms.
An opposition coalition has now agreed to take part in a transitional government while the coalition leader, Mohammed Basindwa, said he expected a deal to be completed.
