The Sri Lankan government has rejected a United Nations report blaming it for thousands of civilian deaths after the end of its civil war with Tamil separatists.
On Monday the UN said there is credible evidence that war crimes were committed by both sides, but that it cannot launch a formal investigation without Sri Lanka’s consent.
