Pixar is preparing for the premier in June of its latest animated film ‘Cars 2’ — the sequel to the highly successful original ‘Cars’ from five years ago. It will be released as the studio celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Creativity, imagination and talented people are behind the studio’s success says the film’s director and chief creative officer, John Lasseter. “We surround ourselves at Pixar with people that are smarter than us,” he said.
Pixar which is now owned by the Walt Disney Company, began by producing computer animated commercials and since those early days its films have grossed over six billion euros.
There are 26 Academy Awards on show along with seven Golden Globes and three Grammys at their California headquarters.
The studio hopes ‘Cars 2’ – which features the voices of stars like Sir Michael Caine – will add to their haul of awards.
