France Telecom and Deutsche Telekom could save 1.3 billion euros by combining their purchases. The two companies will jointly buy equipment that they will share – such as mobiles and information technology.

It is the latest cooperative effort since an announcement in February unveiling five areas where the two giants could work together to achieve cost savings.
