An explosion has ripped through a metro station in Minsk, the capital of Belarus and the interior ministry said seven people had been killed.
At least 50 people are reported injured and casualties have been brought to the surface on stretchers.
The cause of the blast is not immediately clear but witnesses say black smoke is rising from the
Oktyabrskaya metro station in the city centre.
The state news agency BelTA said the blast occurred at 5.55 pm local time at the metro station which is about 100 metres from the administration building of the country’s president, Alexander Lukashenko.
