A pre-dawn Israeli airstrike has killed a Hamas commander and two of his bodyguards in Gaza.
The victims bring to 17 the number of people killed since a Hamas rocket hit an Israeli school bus, injuring the driver and a teenage boy on Thursday.
In all, 35 Palestinians have died since the latest round of violence began on March 20 when Hamas fired a barrage of rockets at Israel.
Israel says this morning’s strike was aimed at those launching missiles across the border.
It claims more than 50 were launched yesterday but many were intercepted by its “Iron Dome” anti-missile system, deployed earlier in the week for the first time.
