Love and chaos at Cannes 2012 Organisers of France’s Mexican Year of Culture are warning that a diplomatic spat between the two countries could cost tens of millions of euros.
Mexico withdrew its support after French President Nicolas Sarkozy dedicated the year of culture to Florence Cassez, a French woman jailed for 60 years in Mexico for alleged links with a kidnap gang.
Many artefacts have already gone back to Mexico without ever being shown to the public.
