Libyan opposition leader optimistic on Gaddafi exit

With hundreds of deaths reported over a week of violence, the secretary general of the Libyan National Movement spoke to euronews from Louisiana in the United States.

“It is a revolution all over the country, a revolution against the dictatorship.

Our position is clear. The speech of Saif al Gaddafi is a re-hash of his father’s words, and all his father’s promises are big lies that we have been hearing for three years.

The latest news is that many police and soldiers have joined the people.

Al Gaddafi is surrounded, and the protesters have reached the region of ‘‘Hay al Akwakh’‘ which is two kilometres from Gaddafi’s palace.

He is getting ready to leave at any moment, and we are getting ready to return to Libya in a week at the most, because Gaddafi’s days are over.”
