It is the dawn of a new era in Egypt. They have already begun to dismantle the makeshift camp in Tahrir Square.
The name means “Liberation”. And the site is surely set to become the emblem of the revolution that freed Egypt from President Hosni Mubarak’s repressive 30-year rule.
The announcement of Mubarak’s resignation came on the 18th day of protests, as an estimated one million people took to the streets.
It was met with unwarranted jubilation.
For some, the party is still going on.
