The 2011 Berlin film festival has opened with the Coen brothers’ movie “True Grit”, kicking off 10 days of cinema extravaganza in the German capital.

Fifty-three films from 29 countries will be screened at this year’s edition, 16 of which will be competing for the Golden Lion.
