Suicide blast kills Pakistan army recruits

A schoolboy suicide bomber has killed at least 20 soldiers and injured several others in north-west Pakistan.

According to police sources, the bomber struck while recruits were conducting morning training drills.

The attack happened in the town of Mardan. It’s the second in 48 hours to hit the region.

Pakistan is waging war against the Taliban but these latest killings raise doubts over government assertions that conflict zones had been stabilised.
