Israeli airstrikes injure eight after Gaza rocket fire

Eight Palestinians were reported injured after three Israeli airstrikes against various targets in the Gaza Strip.

One of the attacks hit a work shop in the village of El Zeitoun which then set a neighbouring shop ablaze. Two women and and six men are thought to have been wounded in and around the area.

Hours earlier, according to Israeli military sources, unknown militants are said to have fired rockets from Gaza into southern Israel.

Last month Gaza’s governing Hamas movement announced it had reached an agreement with minor militant groups not to launch rockets at Israel.

However smaller groups not bound by the deal have ignored the ruling.
