Supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak have gathered around Tahrir Square in central Cairo which has been the focal point for demonstrations. They chanted pro-Mubarak slogans and held banners and signs calling for the president to stay.
Earlier, the army had called for the demonstrations to end, but supporters of Mubarak say they want to send out a clear message to the world. They claimed President Mubarak as their father and called on opposition figure Mohamed ElBaradei to leave Egypt.
One supporter of Mubarak asked why the leaders of the anti-Mubarak protests were handing out 50 euros to their followers. Others claimed they could never find a better leader than Mubarak.
Euronews correspondent Luis Caballo is with the demonstrators. He says the Mubarak supporters are vowing to fight for Mubarak with their body, soul and blood. They say there is no choice.
