As crowds continue to demonstrate in Egypt, supporters have gathered in the Philipino capital, Manila.

Around 60 people grouped outside the US Embassy in the city.

Holding anti-American placards they called for an end to US support for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Events in Egypt live

Many in Manila feel empathy for protestors in Egypt.

“We are a country that has gone through the same process,” said the group’s leader. “We also faced a dictator, we also faced US support for this dictator and we also waged people power 25 years ago. We fully understand and sympathise with what the people of Egypt are going through.

There have been similar displays of solidarity in Thailand too where supporters massed outside the Egyptian Embassy.

“We want to support this movement by Egypt’s people for their rights and freedom to choose the government that they want,” said one.

It is the latest of a number of protests around the world showing Egyptians they are not alone.
