The world’s largest watchmaker, Swatch, is anticipating an up-tick in sales with strong demand helping to offset the strength of the Swiss franc against other currencies.
Swatch Group, which is best known for its colourful plastic watches, also makes luxury timepieces.
Demand for those in Asia, Central Europe and the Middle East meant 4.9 billion euros worth of sales in 2010.
It was another record year for the company, which also owns higher-end brands such as Breguet, Blancpain and Omega.
Swatch said sales had grown at a double-digit rate so far in January.
