As the northern Italian city of Bologna continues to grow, so does the number of vehicles on its roads.

Its historical centre, however, has very limited space for cars.

In a bid to curb traffic congestion and pollution, authorities have introduced a number of measures as part of a European Union project aimed at improving urban mobility.
