Dead bird mystery spreads to Sweden

As many as 100 dead birds have fallen from the sky in Sweden.

Residents of Falköping found the bodies of the jackdaws on Wednesday. Investigators believe cold weather, difficulties finding food or possible shock could be behind their deaths.

The discovery in central Sweden follows a series of similarly bizarre bird fatalities in the United States.

Hundreds of blackbirds were found on the roadside in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on Tuesday. That came four days after as many as 5,000 blackbirds made a fatal final flight in Arkansas. A woman in Kentucky also found dozens of dead blackbirds in her back garden.

Experts have dismissed a link between the incidents as highly unlikely.
