Financial cost of snow at Heathrow

After the flight chaos and passengers sleeping on terminal floors, Heathrow has also taken a big financial blow due to the freezing weather.

Airport operator BAA may be at least down 46 million euros because of lost trading. The figure is based on the money BAA lost during the volcanic ash crisis earlier in the year.

However, the company’s move to long maturity bonds means investors are less worried about this sort of blip.
