Pakistan suicide bomber kills dozens

world news

A suspected suicide bomber has attacked a crowd of people waiting for aid in northwest Pakistan killing at least 40.

Dozens of others were also injured in the blast at the distribution centre in the Taliban stronghold and al-Qaeda stronghold of Bajaur next to the Afghan border.

It is reported the bomber, who was wearing a head-to-toe burqu but whose gender has not been determined, detonated their explosives among hundreds of locals queuing for food.

The blast comes only a day after a big clash between Pakistani security forces and Taliban insurgents in neighbouring Mohmand region. That left 11 soldiers and 24 militants dead.
