A parcel has exploded at the Swiss embassy in Rome, according to Italian and Swiss officials.
Reports say a man working in the post room has been seriously injured. An embassy spokeswoman quoted by Reuters says he is a Swiss national.
There are no other details at the moment.
On Tuesday a rudimentary device was found in an empty underground train in Rome. But it had no detonator or explosive.
It is not known whether the two events are connected.
