Europe slows down as big freeze takes hold This is one White Christmas that the UK won’t want to remember.
The second burst of winter weather so far this year means no flights are landing at Heathrow, the world’s busiest international airport.
Some have taken off, but only a handful.
The weekend before Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year. Thousands of passengers have been stranded in the terminals.
The airport authorities have kept them supplied with food, blankets and beds.
They hope to clear the backlog and fully re-open the airport by Monday.
