Inside the Greek parliament the head of the IMF spoke to MPs; outside protesters voiced their anger.

Dominique Strauss-Kahn was in Athens for renegotiations on the terms of repayment of the country’s 110-billion euro bailout.

He told parliament: “We are really impressed by what has been done already, because it was very difficult, certainly difficult for the government, certainly difficult for the parliament, even more difficult for the people of Greece. But it has been done. There is still a lot to do.”

Outside hundreds of protesters made their feelings known about the austerity measures forced upon the country.

Greece’s bailout from the IMF and EU comes with strict conditions.
