Cubans and Africans unite in Afrocubism

Back in 1996 producer Nick Gold wanted to record an album with musicians from Africa and Cuba, but the project fell through at the last minute after the Africans’ passports went missing.

With the studio booked, Gold pressed ahead with just the Cubans, resulting in the enormously successful Buena Vista Social Club.

Now the original concept has finally made it into the recording studios – Afrocubism.
