There are further signs that Britain’s housing market remains fragile with new data showing the number of mortgage approvals is at its lowest for eight months. House prices in England and Wales also fell by 0.8 percent in November. That statistic and announced government spending cuts are behind the weaker demand, with banks also highly cautious when it comes to lending.
