Australian carrier Quantas has resumed Airbus A380 flights, three weeks after a mid-air engine blow out grounded the fleet for safety checks.
Engineers discovered problems in 16 of the 24 Rolls Royce Trent 900 engines.
To boost confidence the carrier’s chief executive Alan Joyce checked in:
“We are 100 per cent comfortable with it. If we weren’t we wouldn’t be restarting the operation.”
It is unclear if the airline intends to seek compensation from the British based engine maker.
