Sony is making a fresh bid to enter Japan’s electronic book market with an online bookstore with 20,000 titles, and an e-book reader that goes on sale next month. With a sales target of 300,000 units in year one, Sony hopes not to repeat its mishap of 2007, when along with Panasonic it pulled out due to lack of content. It wants half of the Japanese e-reader market by 2012.
