Japan faces exports crunch

Japan’s export growth slowed for an eighth straight month in October, and the economy is bracing itself for a possible contraction in the final quarter as a strong yen hurts business overseas.

Export growth to the US dipped to 4.7 percent from 10.4 in September, and exports to Europe actually fell an annual 1.9 percent, but surged in China, Japan’s biggest market, by 17.5 percent from a year earlier.
