Ceremony for Cambodian stampede victims

An emotional ceremony has been held to mourn the victims of Cambodia’s Water Festival stampede.

The Prime Minister was visibly upset as he paid tribute to the 350 people who died in Monday’s tragedy.

The ceremony took place at the scene of the stampede. Hundreds of people panicked on a swingbridge when it started to sway.

Dozens of people are still being treated in hospital as debate rages about who is responsible.

Questions have been raised about the way the three-day festival was organised, and why so many people were allowed to enter such a confined space.
