Barricades put up around Germany's Reichstag

Authorities appear to be taking seriously reported threats of an attack by Islamic militants on the German parliament.

The Reichstag in Berlin has today been closed to outside visitors, with security barricades put in place.

Over the weekend a German magazine reported details of what it said was a plan for armed militants to enter the parliament and open fire.

Officials last week announced the raising of security levels across the country.
