Some 65 years after some of Hitler’s leading henchmen were tried for war crimes, an exhibition is being inaugurated in the German city of Nuremberg.
Hermann Göring, Rudolf Hess and Joachim von Ribbentrop were just some of the notorious Nazis who sat in the dock. It is the centrepiece of the exhibition being formally opened today in a ceremony attended by the German and Russian foreign ministers as well as representatives from Britain, the US and France.
Exhibits have been placed in an attic area in the courthouse where the trials of the 21 Nazis began 65 years ago this weekend. The courtroom itself is, incredibly, still in use.
